Job Summary

Eldredge Lumber & Hardware is seeking a highly skilled Sales Support Specialist to join our team. As a Sales Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our sales staff by providing administrative, clerical, and customer support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data entry of special orders, orders, and estimates into point-of-sale software.
  • Offer non-stock product sourcing, quoting, and ordering.
  • Field millwork takeoffs via blueprints or customer/salesman supplied lists.
  • Schedule and monitor deliveries of customer-specific orders to attain a high level of timely and complete service.
  • Follow up on return to vendor, customer credit, and no-charge paperwork to alleviate such workload from outside sales team.
  • Continually educate oneself on market trends, product offerings, vendor portfolios, and new technology in the market.
  • Maintain the open quote contract system for select jobs requiring a price commitment for duration of project as market allows.
  • Field overflow customer phone calls and warehouse customer service needs as required.
  • Other tasks, responsibilities, and projects assigned by the manager.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to read and interpret documents; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Should be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; also be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficient with using computers, their applications, and other technological equipment in a retail environment. This includes but is not limited to: Microsoft Suite products, online shopping interfaces, point-of-sale systems, printers, and handheld scan guns.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Inside sales experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting at least 20 to 50 lbs on a routine basis; lifting may exceed 50 lbs in certain instances.
  • Bending, climbing, and twisting are routine; the position requires the ability to retrieve, stock, and move product.
  • Manual dexterity; working with cash registers and computers, assembly of some products; ability to quickly make appropriate change for customers.
  • The ability to see and read product labels, dispense product knowledge, and communicate with our customer base.
  • Ability to stand and walk in a store consistently for up to 4 hours or more at a time.
  • Ability to move stock with carts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks daily.
