We are seeking a highly skilled Prototype Specialist to join our team at Inmotion. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for the assembly of prototype electric motors using various methods and techniques.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble prototype electric motors using press fitting, shrink fitting, fasteners, and hand tool assembly methods.
- Inspect and measure component parts using metrology equipment to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Troubleshoot problems during and after assembly process of prototypes.
- Coordinate production of sub-assemblies and machined components with other functional areas and machine shop.
- Maintain accurate inventory of prototype components and tools.
- Responsible for safe use and storage of tools, fixtures, and test equipment.
- Determine component requirements, order required materials, and expedite purchase orders.
- Maintain detailed and complete prototype records.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical assembly and electrical troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and motor winding diagrams.
- Experience using various electrical test methods and dimensional metrology equipment.
- Ability to work to mechanical drawings, work instructions, and verbal instructions.
- Knowledge of soldering tools and techniques, various hand tools, and benchtop winding equipment.
- 2-year degree in Mechanical or similar technical curriculum.
- Experience with permanent magnet motor assemblies and electrical connections.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Docs.
