Job Overview

Classic Home, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Product Development Specialist to join our team. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping the future of our product line, driving innovation, and ensuring the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire product development process, from initial concept to production.
  • Collaborate with the design team to conceptualize and develop new furniture product ideas.
  • Create detailed product specifications and work with manufacturers to ensure product quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee prototype development and testing, making necessary adjustments and refinements.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers on development changes and expectations.
  • Use logic to interpret design concepts and create line drawings.
  • Proactively gather and analyze required information before disseminating to suppliers.
  • Communicate development timelines, sample submissions, approvals, and revisions daily with overseas suppliers.
  • Assess development requirements with the design lead to maximize cost-effectiveness when sourcing.
  • Assist with entering auditing, costing, pricing, dimensions, materials, parts, and supplier information in internal systems.
  • Place initial sample purchase orders with factories and manage timelines to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including EVP for new development, QC, and Account Specialist.
  • Ensure products comply with industry standards and regulations.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and CAD, Photoshop, and 3D software a plus.
  • AA degree or BA degree from an accredited college.
  • Experience in furniture product development, construction, and/or project management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability.
  • Self-driven and goal-oriented.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Working Conditions

Normal for an office environment, with the ability to work sitting down and walk 30% of the time.
