Job Overview

HIDDEN LEVEL INC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative drone detection and airspace technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and document mechanical system requirements in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Design mechanical solutions for tightly controlled enclosures and fixtures using 3D solid modeling
  • Perform structural, thermal, and failure analyses to meet environmental and structural requirements
  • Optimize designs for feasibility, manufacturability, cost, thermal performance, strength-weight efficiency, and ease of assembly
  • Create and maintain cable assemblies/harnesses and other peripheral interface designs
  • Solve design challenges using various materials and fabrication methods
  • Define, maintain, and communicate requirements to 3rd-party fabrication houses
  • Perform design verification and integration of new components and support field testing
  • Author assembly instructions and drawings in support of in-house production
  • Aid with the management of bills of material (BOM) and other production and fabrication artifacts
  • Review hardware parts for obsolescence and identify suitable replacements
  • Provide information in support of project planning, execution, and oversight

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling tools
  • Proficiency with performing thermal and structural analysis, detailed tolerance studies, dimensional fits and clearances analysis, and environmental hardening
  • Proficiency in utilizing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to convey requirements on drawings
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and overcome technical challenges through teamwork and collaboration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the design and development of hardened electronics enclosures
  • Experience providing design oversight and detailed mechanical design review feedback
  • Experience with strict configuration management and design control
  • Experience with the following (or similar):
    1. Design and implementation of radar, communication, and other sensor systems
    2. SolidWorks 3D modeling software
    3. FEA simulation using ANSYS software
    4. Configuration management systems such as SolidWorks Product Data Management (PDM)
