Position Overview
We are currently in search of a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our dedicated team at our manufacturing facility. The primary responsibility of the CWI is to implement quality assurance protocols during the fabrication of steel structures.

Key Responsibilities
The CWI plays a crucial role within the production team and is expected to possess extensive knowledge relevant to their department. Responsibilities include:

  • Executing inspection processes while documenting specific testing plans.
  • Ensuring that welding personnel are qualified in accordance with applicable standards and are re-qualified as necessary.
  • Conducting and documenting weld procedure specifications and welder operator qualification tests.
  • Performing inspections of incoming materials and vendor assessments as required.
  • Creating and maintaining quality control records and documentation using electronic systems.
  • Upholding a commitment to quality, safety, and urgency to achieve outstanding production results.
  • Interpreting work instructions and drawings to verify production requirements.
  • Confirming that materials and consumables meet specified standards.
  • Ensuring that equipment used in production is suitable, properly calibrated, and compliant with relevant procedures.
  • Conducting first article, visual, and dimensional inspections at all production stages.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
  • Approximately 5+ years of quality control experience with a focus on welding operations.
  • Experience in steel fabrication or general construction.
  • A background in quality assurance.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering and shop drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.

Physical Requirements
