Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Welding Inspector to join our team at Dogwood Industries. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in our steel fabrication operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement inspection plans and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct quality control checks on welding processes and materials to identify defects or non-conformities.
  • Develop and maintain quality control records, documents, and logs to track production progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Control Manager to develop and implement quality assurance plans and procedures.
  • Perform incoming material inspections and vendor inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Verify that equipment and tools are properly calibrated and meet industry standards.
  • Issue reports and track resolution of non-conforming conditions.
  • Perform first article, visual, and dimensional checks at all stages of production.
Requirements
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
  • 5+ years of Quality Control experience with emphasis in Welding Operations.
  • Experience in steel fabrication or general construction.
  • High school diploma, general education degree, or vocational degree.
  • Knowledge of fixtures and weld setup parameters such as amps, volts, etc.
  • Previous experience in quality assurance.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and shop drawings.
  • Familiarity with AWS D1.1 weld inspection.
  • Fluency in English with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
