Job Summary

LVI Associates is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team as a Project Manager. As a key member of our civil engineering group, you will be responsible for managing diverse projects, including residential, commercial, mixed-use, urban/downtown, and industrial development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate project activities, including project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Evaluate and select civil systems for projects, ensuring compliance with local codes and design requirements.
  • Develop and implement project designs using sketches, electronic models, and visual formats.
  • Lead project coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and reviewing agencies.
  • Participate in client meetings, value analysis, and cost estimating to ensure project deliverables meet client expectations.
  • Support the development of junior engineers and assist senior engineers with project management tasks.
  • Lead the preparation and coordination of project specifications and construction documents.
  • Utilize advanced techniques for analyzing specialized civil elements, including structural and geotechnical systems.
  • Conduct quality assurance and control, and contribute to constructability reviews to ensure project quality and safety.
  • Assist in developing new standards, efficiencies, and specifications for the civil group, driving innovation and best practices.

Qualifications and Capabilities:

  • Knowledge of civil engineering codes and design requirements in the local market, including building codes and zoning regulations.
  • Understanding of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications, including CAD software and project management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of civil systems, materials, and industry standards, including structural systems, geotechnical systems, and water resources engineering.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical information to clients and stakeholders.
  • Thorough understanding of project management principles, including task assignment, budgeting, and efficient resource use.
  • Ability to check others' work for accuracy and completeness, ensuring high-quality project deliverables.
  • Collaboration and teamwork skills, including the ability to work effectively in a project team setting and engage in creative and critical thought.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software, including AutoCAD Civil3D, GIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD, WaterCAD, and PondPack.
