Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at the City of Norfolk, Department of Utilities. As a Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of water service lines, lawns, and other facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including digging and refilling trenches, making minor repairs to water service lines, and maintaining lawns and other facilities.
  • Operate various equipment, including tools and machinery, to perform tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time to meet deadlines.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions and operate equipment safely.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects and equipment.
