Job Summary:

The Grounds Laborer Maintenance position at Didlake is responsible for maintaining the grounds of industrial, commercial, or public property. This includes tasks such as cutting grass, trimming hedges, pruning shrubs and trees, and repairing structures and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the grounds of industrial, commercial, or public property
  • Cutting grass using walking-type or riding mowers
  • Trimming hedges and edging around walks, flowerbeds, and wells
  • Pruning shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth
  • Spraying lawns, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer and insecticide
  • Planting grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs
  • Watering lawn and shrubs during dry periods
  • Picking up and burning or carting away leaves, paper, or other litter
  • Removing snow from walks, driveways, roads, or parking lots
  • Spreading salt on walkways and other areas
  • Repairing and painting fences, gates, benches, tables, guardrails, and outbuildings

Requirements:

  • Three (3) months of experience in grounds maintenance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the appropriate credentials/background check as required by the contract
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively
  • Must be able to learn the proper use and operator maintenance of routine grounds maintenance equipment and hand tools
