Maintenance Trades Assistant

The Maintenance Trades Helper will be responsible for assisting skilled maintenance trades workers in performing specific or general duties of lesser skill. This includes keeping workers supplied with materials and tools, cleaning working areas, machines, and equipment, and assisting journeyman workers by holding materials or tools. The helper will also perform other unskilled tasks as directed by journeyman workers.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance and handling on submarine vertical launch system (VLS) equipment and components. Assist workers in the skilled maintenance trades by performing specific or general duties of lesser skill. Clean working areas, machines, and equipment. Hold materials or tools for journeyman workers. Perform other unskilled tasks as directed by journeyman workers.
Requirements:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and zero (0) to three (3) years of maintenance trades helper experience. Clean and valid driver license is required at the time of hire. Must be able to obtain medical clearance for respirator use. Must be a US Citizen. Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance. Able to obtain and maintain a Naval Station clearance without an escort.
Preferred Skills:
Previous forklift operator experience. Respirator qualification will be required. Comprehend and perform detailed written maintenance procedures under direct supervision. Will be driving company vehicles and towing trailers.
