Senior Environmental Specialist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Specialist to join our Natural Resources team in California.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for overseeing complex biological projects, managing project workflows, and providing technical direction to staff and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee biological permitting projects under Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, Coastal Act, and other regulations
  • Manage and complete moderate to large-sized projects and major tasks of larger projects
  • Coordinate and track assignments, scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables
  • Serve as Rincon's primary point of contact for clients and regulatory agencies
Requirements:
  • Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in environmental consulting, with a focus on biological resource assessments, botanical surveys, wildlife species surveys, wetland delineations, CRAM assessments, and regulatory permitting
  • BS or MS in Biology or equivalent from an accredited university or college; or PhD in Biology or equivalent and 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience with supervising employees, being solution-oriented, and fostering positive relationships with staff, clients, agencies, and subconsultants
Compensation:

The base salary range for this full-time position is $84,000-$138,000, plus a comprehensive Total Rewards Package that includes health benefits, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage.
