We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Monitoring Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary:

As an Environmental Monitoring Specialist, you will be responsible for providing archaeological field monitoring services, including survey and construction monitoring, excavation testing, and data recovery.

About the Role:

  • Conduct archaeological surveys and monitor construction activities to identify potential cultural resources.
  • Participate in excavation testing and data recovery efforts to collect and analyze data related to cultural resources.
  • Record and map site locations, using GPS technology and Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) 523 series forms.
  • Prepare daily logs and summaries of monitoring activities.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, initiative, and problem-solving abilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field.
  • 1-2+ years of experience in conducting surveys and/or monitoring tasks described above.
  • Experience with GPS technology and HAZWOPER training.

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year
