Job Overview:


The Legal Counsel Specialist supports the Office of General Counsel in delivering comprehensive legal services for the institution, engaging with a diverse array of legal matters.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide legal guidance and support on compliance matters related to higher education and public entities.
2. Draft, revise, and negotiate various contracts relevant to the higher education sector.
3. Assist in overseeing the contract management process and collaborate with the Purchasing Department on Requests for Proposals and other procurement-related agreements, policies, and procedures.

4. Manage document requests, conduct legal research, and draft policy recommendations for the institution.

The Legal Counsel Specialist operates under the direction of the General Counsel, ensuring confidentiality and security in all legal matters.


Minimum Qualifications:

1. Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the State Bar.
2. A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Proven track record of professional achievements.
2. Experience representing governmental, educational, corporate, or other complex organizations.
