Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety of our workforce while achieving optimal production efficiency in accordance with the highest standards of food quality. This role requires strict adherence to PURIS' Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and Quality Standards. The Manufacturing Operations Manager is expected to embody and promote the PURIS Core Values: Integrity, Leadership, Openness, Global Vision, Adaptability, and Partnership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee plant production output while maintaining a safe environment for both personnel and food quality, reporting directly to the Plant Manager.
  • Implement Lean Principles to maximize resource efficiency in manufacturing processes.
  • Lead and organize a team of over 30 front-line managers and technicians.
  • Develop and manage annual, monthly, and weekly production schedules aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide safety leadership on the production floor through training and exemplary conduct.
  • Contribute to the creation of improvement plans aimed at enhancing process efficiency and facilitating new product development.
  • Direct production operations by leading, managing, and developing the team to meet performance improvement goals.
  • Coordinate weekly maintenance activities with production schedules to resolve any conflicts.
  • Develop and maintain a staffing plan to support continuous operations.
  • Manage the documentation and training systems for standard work practices.
  • Lead and oversee periodic Clean In Place (CIP) processes.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team on planned projects, representing the production team's interests in strategic management discussions.
  • Be available for occasional shifts outside of regular hours, including weekends and off shifts.
  • Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering or a Technical/Vocational field with proven technical and analytical skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a process plant production environment, ideally in a managerial or senior leadership role.
  • Experience in operational safety leadership is essential.
  • Demonstrated success in process improvement initiatives and methodologies.
  • Practical experience in food production or similar environments, with knowledge of food safety standards.
  • Experience in a 24/7 operational setting is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with familiarity in methodologies such as A3, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing is advantageous but not mandatory.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; capable of addressing groups.
  • Sound judgment and business acumen, with strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
