We are seeking a highly skilled Equipment Inspector to join our team at the Louisiana Department of State Civil Service. As an Equipment Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting on-site inspections of all Department of Transportation and Development vehicular equipment, writing reports, and recommending corrective action.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site preventive maintenance and safety inspections of light and heavy equipment
  • Write reports on equipment condition and recommend corrective action
  • Discuss equipment needs with managers and maintenance supervisors, making recommendations for specifications for purchase of equipment
  • Maintain inventory on equipment showing location, physical history, and current mechanical condition
  • Evaluate products such as degreasers, greasers, graphites, sealing compounds, and solvents to recommend changes in purchasing specifications for products
Requirements
  • Three years of experience in automotive repair, mobile equipment repair, vehicular equipment inspection, or the operation of heavy mobile equipment
  • Class B CDL Driver's License
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds, stoop, bend, and creep under or around equipment
