Role Responsibilities

As a Program Manager reporting to the Senior Director of Programs, you will play a crucial role in supporting and managing Liberty Hill's programmatic initiatives. Initially, your focus will be on Environmental Justice programs, including the Thriving Communities Grant Making Program (TCGM), EJ Ready, Environmental Leadership Initiative (ELI), and STAND LA, while also providing support across various program areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage actively in program meetings and collaborative initiatives, including competitive grantmaking and capacity-building efforts.
  • Design and deliver training curricula.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings with internal teams and community partners.
  • Oversee logistics for virtual meetings, including scheduling, stakeholder outreach, agenda preparation, speaker coordination, and technical support.
  • Assist in developing effective learning modules for climate-related assemblies.
  • Contribute to the creation of foundation reports and proposals.
  • Support financial processes, including reimbursements and invoicing.
  • Coordinate with Liberty Hill staff regarding Environmental Justice activities.
  • Conduct research on studies and policies related to Climate Equity Roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with communications teams to inform messaging and outreach strategies.
  • Stay informed about renewable energy and climate resilience initiatives.
  • Monitor policy developments related to environmental issues.
  • Provide administrative support as needed.

Your role will involve policy research and curriculum development while working closely with both internal and external stakeholders. You will primarily coordinate initiatives aimed at addressing environmental inequities and advocating for climate justice in underserved communities in Los Angeles.

Qualifications

  • Education: BS/BA Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3+ years in nonprofit, government, or labor union programs; 2+ years in organizing or policy advocacy.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software.
  • Language: Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
