Senior Business Development Director

We're seeking a seasoned professional to lead our government contracting business development efforts. As a key member of our leadership team, you'll drive growth, develop relationships with industry partners and government agencies, and lead proposal efforts to win new contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to expand our presence in the government contracting market.
Market Analysis:
Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities and stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes.
Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key government agencies, industry partners, and stakeholders to facilitate business growth and collaboration.
Proposal Leadership:
Lead the proposal development process, including coordinating with internal teams, preparing and reviewing proposals, and ensuring compliance with government requirements and standards.
Revenue Growth:
Drive revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, negotiating contracts, and closing deals with government clients.
Collaboration:
Work closely with internal departments such as Operations, Finance, and Human Resources to ensure successful project delivery and compliance with contractual obligations.
Performance Tracking:
Monitor and report on business development activities, performance metrics, and outcomes to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree
Minimum of 7 years of experience in government business development capture and proposal development, preferably selling information technology services.
Proven track record of winning government contracts and driving business growth.
Military experience is a plus.
Skills:
Strong understanding of government procurement processes and regulations.
Excellent strategic planning, relationship-building, and networking skills.
Exceptional written communication and presentation abilities.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Roll-up-your-sleeves initiative. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a highly skilled and motivated team.
Technology savvy. Understand information technology in Government, new technologies, trends in and modernization of information technology.
Expert user of Microsoft Office Suite and Deltek Govwin.
Eager learner of new enabling technologies like robotic process automation (Smartsheet) and artificial intelligence.
Government proposal leadership and solution development.
