The Kitchen Helper plays a vital role in the success of Eva's Jamaican kitchen, assisting in the preparation of food items, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist chefs and cooks in preparing food ingredients, including washing, peeling, cutting, and slicing.
  • Perform basic cooking duties, such as preparing simple dishes, and frying.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, adhering to hygiene and sanitation regulations.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, and ensure they are stored appropriately.
  • Dispose of waste and recyclables properly.
  • Monitor inventory and report any shortages of kitchen supplies to the kitchen manager.
  • Help in the receiving, unpacking, and organizing of supplies and groceries.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by following safety guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Kitchen Helper, Dishwasher, or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
  • Strong understanding of hygiene and sanitation practices.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and handle the pace of a busy kitchen.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
