Job Summary

Stamford Health is seeking a highly skilled Infection Preventionist to join their team. As a key member of the infection prevention and control program, you will be responsible for surveillance, prevention, and control of infection. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining a safe environment with minimal risks of infections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement infection prevention and control policies and procedures
  • Conduct surveillance and analysis of infection data
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and departments to promote infection prevention principles
  • Provide education and training to healthcare personnel on infection prevention practices
  • Participate in outbreak investigations and develop strategies for prevention and control
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and standards
Requirements
  • Current RN license in the State of Connecticut
  • Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) or willingness to attain within five years
  • Three years of experience in an acute care hospital
  • Experience in Infection Prevention and Control or willingness to be trained
  • Awareness or experience with NHSN data reporting and analysis
Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical and Microbiological Terminology
  • Personal Computer, Microsoft Office
  • Effective communication skills and Public Speaking
