About Our Department

This role is situated within a Medical Surgical Unit, which comprises 34 beds. This unit is dedicated to the care of medical surgical patients who require cardiac monitoring. Our patient demographic includes middle-aged, older adults, and geriatric individuals. Common conditions treated include Cellulitis/Osteomyelitis, Altered Mental Status/Dementia, Mobility Deficits, Abdominal/Chest Pain, and various Mental and Behavioral Health Disorders.

Recognized Excellence

Work Schedule: Full Time Day, Full Time Night, Part Time Day

Shifts are scheduled six weeks in advance. The work schedule for this position includes:
  • Availability for three (3) twelve (12) hour shifts weekly
  • Commitment to work every third (3rd) weekend
  • Rotating holiday responsibilities
Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, Safety Associates will deliver direct patient care:
  • Execute assigned nursing tasks to ensure patient comfort and safety
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all assigned patients, including flow sheets
  • Assist physicians during examinations and tests as required
  • Perform additional tasks such as respiratory services, rehabilitation services, and phlebotomy
Qualifications

To be considered for the Safety Associate position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
  • High School Diploma
  • CPR-BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Preferred: One (1) year of experience in an acute care inpatient setting
  • Preferred: Certification as a Patient Care Tech/Nursing Assistant

Conditions of Employment
