Job Summary

The State of Kansas is seeking a highly skilled MHIT Program Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Behavioral Health Services department, you will play a critical role in implementing and supporting the Mental Health Intervention Program (MHIT) in school districts and Mental Health Providers (MHPs) across the state.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist and consult with school districts and MHPs in the MHIT Program, providing mentorship and support to ensure successful program implementation.
  • Review and summarize reports submitted by participating school districts and MHPs, identifying areas of improvement and best practices.
  • Attend meetings called by KDADS related to MHIT, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement training sessions for schools and MHPs to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Oversee the development of sample documents, including forms, processes, and procedures for schools to use in their programs.
  • Collaborate with the Children's Behavioral Health Program Manager to review and triage complex relationships among school systems, behavioral health systems, and legislative requirements.
  • Provide feedback to the MHIT Program Manager, the Children's Behavioral Health Program manager, and Behavioral Health Youth Director on information and data that inform policy development processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in behavioral or social services, human services, education, public administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in children's behavioral health systems, with a combination of education, training, and work experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel and data management.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to travel as needed.

  • Ability to identify and analyze problems, and select, implement, and evaluate solutions.

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop strong collaborative working relationships.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and monitor performance of process stakeholders.
