Job Overview

The Digital Service Technician plays a crucial role in delivering on-site technical assistance to ensure optimal press functionality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts scheduled preventative maintenance tasks in accordance with service agreements or work order specifications.
  • Installs new machinery and educates clients on product usage, safety protocols, operational procedures, best practices, and maintenance techniques.
  • Offers on-site technical support for both scheduled and emergency warranty services, including troubleshooting and repairing software, hardware, network, and electrical systems.
  • Ensures a superior customer experience through proactive engagement and support.
  • Records, logs, and communicates details of all service activities; escalates client issues as necessary.
  • Documents all service-related tasks, including service reports, expense documentation, and installation evaluations.
  • Identifies and recommends improvements to processes, press efficiency, customer satisfaction, and potential sales opportunities for Mark Andy products and services.
  • Collaborates regularly with Engineering to facilitate product enhancements aimed at improving performance and reliability.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities in mechanical and electrical domains.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with digital inkjet printing technologies (including print heads, inking systems, alignments, and software controls).
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and mechanical blueprints.
  • Solid understanding of servo drives, PLC controls, and circuit systems.

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years in a technical service role.
  • Extensive experience within the printing sector and web transport systems.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to electrical, pneumatic, software, and hardware components relevant to press operations and digital printing.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to frequently sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl while navigating various facilities. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required on production floors. Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds is necessary.
