Aerial Sensor Systems Operator Job Description

Aethon Aerial Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Aerial Sensor Systems Operator to join our team. As an Aerial Sensor Systems Operator, you will play a critical role in capturing data and imagery for company and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operating Aerial Sensor Platforms: Safely operate airborne sensor platforms in various environments, ensuring optimal data collection and quality.
  • Flight Log Management: Record and update flight logs and daily reports, maintaining accurate records of operations.
  • Data Quality Control: Monitor the quality of collected data, identifying and addressing any issues or discrepancies.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of in-flight equipment, ensuring optimal system performance.
  • Pre-Flight and Post-Flight Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-flight and post-flight inspections to ensure navigation trajectories are accurate and data coverage is optimal.
  • Quality Management: Participate in the quality management system, documenting processes and procedures, and providing recommendations for improvement opportunities.
  • System Repair and Maintenance: Troubleshoot and make limited system repairs, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
  • Best Practices: Follow and help improve best practices for troubleshooting integrated systems, ensuring optimal system performance and efficiency.
  • Optical Device Integration: Integrate, tune, and test optical devices, ensuring optimal system performance and data quality.
  • Software Operation: Operate proprietary software to debug, tune, and test complex electromechanical systems.
  • Deadline Management: Work to deadlines to meet delivery dates for both internal and external customers.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Interact with other departments to resolve problems and provide continuous improvement to reflect operational results and goals.
  • Field Support: Provide field support for system installation, calibration, customer training, and program/process development.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve the company's process for system specification, configuration control, and documentation.
Requirements:
  • Troubleshooting Techniques: Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques and ability to read technical drawings, data sheets, and schematics.
  • Customer Relations: Strong and professional customer relations skills.
  • Microsoft Office Environment: Ability to work within a Microsoft Office environment, including knowledge of Windows, Excel, and Word.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Deadline Management: Ability to work to company deadlines to meet customer delivery dates.
  • Teamwork: Work in teams to continuously improve operations and processes.
