About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Specialist I to join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to children and families in our mental health program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Trauma-Informed care to patients and families, promoting a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Collect and document patient data, including vital signs, temperature, and oxygen saturation.
  • Assist with basic supportive care, including hygiene, nutrition, and mobility.
  • Perform specimen collection, including urine and stool samples.
  • Participate in unit/program/area quality improvement activities.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Students in Bachelors of Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, or related field can apply after half of their undergrad program has been completed.
  • One year of comparable experience in a hospital setting within the past 3 years.
  • Good written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Neat appearance, good grooming, and professional manner.
  • CPR trained (American Heart Association CPR for Family and Friends) course or Health Care Provider course or Red Cross equivalent.
