We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Worker to join our team at Sheppard Pratt. As a key member of our inpatient psychiatric program for children and adolescents, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care to patients, including lifting, moving, and assisting as needed.
- Conduct patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and implement evidence-based interventions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Mental Health or Human Services-related field preferred.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in an inpatient setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of child and adolescent assessment skills, behavior modification techniques, and developmental stages.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, with ability to develop therapeutic relationships and maintain professional boundaries.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage stressful situations, and prioritize tasks effectively.
This position requires regular standing, bending, walking, and lifting. The work environment is a locked inpatient psychiatric program for children and adolescents aged four through seventeen that operates 24 hours/day seven days a week.
Must possess adequate strength and stamina to work on their feet for the work day. May be exposed to violent/aggressive behavior, communicable diseases, blood/body fluids, and hazardous waste.
