Job Summary

The Executive Director of Alumni Relations is a senior leadership position responsible for providing strategic direction for alumni engagement initiatives across the University of Massachusetts Lowell. This role requires a strong leader who can foster collaborative partnerships with various stakeholders, including directors of development, deans, and faculty members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for alumni engagement, including event planning, volunteer management, and donor relations.
  • Collaborate with Advancement Communications to build an integrated marketing strategy for segmented and targeted alumni outreach.
  • Serve as liaison to the UMass President's Office and UMass Foundation for system-wide alumni activities and programs.
  • Manage donor relations special events and provide strategic support to all functions within the Division of University Advancement.
  • Work with Alumni Relations staff to develop programs that foster alumni volunteerism and maximize the reach of the division.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Ten to fifteen years of progressively responsible alumni relations, event planning, or volunteer management experience, preferably in higher education.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create and nurture productive working partnerships internally and externally.
  • Proven leader with integrity, manager who is intuitive, creative, self-directed, conscientious, motivated, and a team player.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent travel, both nationally and internationally, as well as weekend and evening work. The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
