Job Summary:

The University of Massachusetts is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to serve as the Assistant Director of Student Rights and Responsibilities. This key role will play a critical part in upholding the University's commitment to student conduct and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director and Associate Director in all day-to-day functions of the Student Conduct Office.
  • Coordinate conduct process administrative tasks, conduct and manage assigned investigations, and manage student issues on an individual basis.
  • Collaborate with departments within Student and Academic Affairs and across the University to aid in the success of the students they are working with.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree in Higher Education, Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred.
  • 2-3 years of professional work experience in Student Conduct, Residence Life, or a field with related job functions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience investigating Title IX and other alleged misconduct.
  • Experience using Maxient conduct software.
  • Training from Association of Student Conduct Administrators at the Gehring Academy (foundations track).
  • Proficient in computer software programs including those in the Microsoft Office group, Adobe Acrobat, and the University's Peoplesoft (SIS) software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to address the needs of students and staff and promote a positive student culture.
  • Proven ability to work closely with faculty, staff, students, parents, and alumni.
  • Understanding of and experience working with conduct processes including a working knowledge of FERPA.
  • Ability to speak and write in more than one language.
