Position Summary:

Cloud7Works, Inc, a rapidly expanding woman-owned small business, is on the lookout for a Lead Federal Proposal Strategist. This remote position emphasizes expertise in proposal management and coordination, alongside content development and strategic planning. The selected candidate will oversee all facets of the proposal delivery process, which includes RFP analysis, project initiation, initial drafting, refinement, and final submission of proposals. There may also be opportunities to engage in capture activities as workload allows. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional business writing and project management abilities, a strong understanding of technology, and the capacity to grasp the complexities of the market and client requirements. A successful applicant will be driven to craft winning proposals and must be adaptable to work on various projects with differing responsibilities. To thrive in this role, the candidate must have substantial experience providing comprehensive proposal support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other client documentation to comprehend technical and business needs.
  • Create clear, concise, and technically accurate content for proposals, ensuring alignment with client specifications and evaluation criteria.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), engineers, architects, and other technical personnel to gather and articulate necessary technical information.
  • Draft, edit, and organize technical content, including executive summaries, technical approaches, solution overviews, implementation plans, and compliance matrices.
  • Ensure all proposal content is consistent, clear, and compelling, showcasing the organization's strengths and differentiators.
  • Verify that proposals meet all technical and formatting requirements outlined in the RFP, including adherence to page limits, font sizes, and other client-specified guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain templates and standardized content to enhance the proposal development process.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business development, project management, engineering, and legal, to ensure the proposal is comprehensive and aligned with the organization's capabilities.
  • Facilitate kick-off meetings, color reviews, and proposal review sessions, coordinating input from multiple stakeholders to refine and enhance proposal content.
  • Conduct research to gather relevant technical information, market data, and competitive intelligence to strengthen the proposal.
  • Analyze previous proposals and client feedback to identify areas for improvement in future submissions.
  • Review and edit proposals to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity.
  • Perform quality checks to confirm that all technical content is accurate and meets client requirements.
  • Manage multiple proposals concurrently, adhering to tight deadlines and ensuring timely submission.
  • Develop and maintain proposal schedules, tracking key milestones, and ensuring all contributors meet their deadlines.
  • Maintain a repository of proposal content, ensuring that all documents are current and accessible to relevant team members.
  • Continuously enhance the proposal process by identifying bottlenecks, recommending improvements, and implementing best practices.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, technical advancements, and best practices in proposal writing.
