Job Summary

The City of Norfolk, VA is seeking a highly skilled Senior Microcomputer Systems Analyst to join its Information Technology team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for the city's computer systems, including Windows and iOS software, computer hardware, and network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and maintenance for the city's computer systems, including Windows and iOS software, computer hardware, and network infrastructure.
  • Diagnose and resolve computer hardware, software, access, and security issues.
  • Install and update software on computers using desktop management and other remote software management tools.
  • Provide advanced technical support with projects involving computer hardware and software or other specialized technical systems.
  • Document and modify computer hardware and software installation and troubleshooting procedures for technical staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Three years of experience in repairing computer hardware and troubleshooting software issues.
  • Experience working on a technology help desk or in direct customer support.
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office suite components, and other standard computer application software.
  • Ability to work regular on-call weekly rotations and occasional after-hours events.

The City of Norfolk, VA offers a competitive salary range of $59,393 - $68,301, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

This is an essential position, which means you may be required to work nights, weekends, rotating shifts, holidays in response to severe weather events and emergencies.
