The Assistive Technology Specialist will provide support to special education teachers and students, including those with 504 plans, in the use and implementation of assistive technology devices and systems. This role will work collaboratively to provide ideas, resources, and training on a variety of assistive technology tools in both general education and special education settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assistive technology support to special education teachers and students
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement assistive technology plans
  • Provide training and resources on assistive technology tools
  • Assist general education teachers with selecting and implementing assistive technology
  • Follow regulations associated with Individual Education Plans and reporting requirements
Requirements
  • Experience with assistive technology and special education
  • Special education or speech and language certification
  • CT certification in Special Education or Speech Language Pathologist or Occupational Therapist
  • Human relations and communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to issues of diversity and multicultural curriculum
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree
  • Fluency in Spanish
Work Environment

This position will work in a school setting, collaborating with teachers and students to provide assistive technology support.
