Job Title: Controls Engineer II

Corning Incorporated is seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer II to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing electrical controls solutions for our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical controls systems for process improvement, cost reduction, and capital expansion projects.
  • Manage electrical and controls scope of assigned projects, ensuring timely completion and quality results.
  • Participate in project teams and support daily manufacturing operations by providing technical support to plant's various control systems.
  • Collaborate with IT and process engineers to define analog and digital channel requirements, control sequence logic, and fail-safe states.
  • Select and specify field devices to accomplish desired process/equipment functions, ensuring compatibility with site standards.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to program in ladder logic, structured text, and function block.
  • Strong fundamental understanding of electrical design practices, control systems integration, controls architectures, programmable logic controller (PLC), electro-mechanical drive systems, vision system, risk assessment, and safety systems.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in programmable logic controller (PLC) programming (AB Studio 5000 preferred).
  • Able to design, configure, and implement Human Machine Interface (HMI) programming (GE iFix preferred).
  • Project management skills.
  • Knowledge of cable manufacturing process and equipment.
  • Manufacturing experience and ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), VB.NET, and PI Data Historian.
  • AutoCAD Electrical.

Corning Incorporated offers a competitive salary range of $85,524.00 - $117,596.00, assuming full-time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
