Job Description: They are seeking a motivated and skilled Insurance Defense Associate Attorney to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in insurance defense litigation and be adept at handling a variety of complex legal issues. This role involves managing cases from inception to resolution, including conducting depositions, drafting motions, and representing clients in court.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Management: Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters, including commercial litigation, property damage, and professional liability claims.
  • Legal Research and Writing: Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Court Representation: Represent clients in court proceedings, depositions, and mediations.
  • Case Strategy and Advice: Develop and implement case strategies and provide legal advice to clients.
  • Negotiation and Settlement: Negotiate settlements and work with experts to prepare cases for trial.
  • Industry Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.

Requirements:

  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bar Admission: Admission to the state bar in Maryland and Virginia license is a plus.
  • Experience: 0-3 years of experience in insurance defense litigation.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of insurance law and defense strategies, excellent analytical, research, and writing skills, ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
