Field Technician/Construction Inspector

About the Role

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a highly skilled Field Technician/Construction Inspector to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing observations and testing during earthwork and building construction of various projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform field testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt to determine compliance with project specifications.
  • Conduct field tests using specialized equipment to collect data from construction materials.
  • Interact with construction site personnel, engineers, and state and federal representatives while presenting yourself as a professional representative of the company.
  • Drive and maintain the appearance and operation of company vehicles to and from job sites.
  • Prepare daily reports, read and interpret project drawings and specifications, and enter data related to job tasks.
  • Communicate with Company Project Managers while on project sites.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of field experience working on commercial construction projects performing inspections or testing.
  • Minimum of high school education.
  • Ability to interpret project plans and specifications.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to write accurate and concise field reports.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NICET, ICC, and ACI certifications.
  • WVDOH certification.
