Job Description

CTL Engineering is seeking a skilled Construction Services Inspector to join our team. As a Construction Services Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and safety of our construction projects. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and enforcing quality standards and specifications, reading project drawings and specifications, and performing construction administration and inspection services for state, county, and local roadway and bridge projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and enforce quality standards and specifications.
  • Read project drawings and specifications.
  • Perform construction administration and inspection services for state, county, and local roadway and bridge projects.
  • Inspect construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with state specifications, plans, and proposals.
  • Verify plan quantities and calculations are within bid plans.
  • Prepare and maintain project records and reports in a timely manner.
  • Notify the Contractor or Project Engineer with status updates or about non-conforming work.
  • Conduct quality control testing at project sites, including concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt, aggregate, and reinforcing steel.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of engineering, construction, testing, and inspection principles.
  • Experience with materials and lab testing.
  • Experience with quality control testing and compliance specifications.
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction documents.
  • Understanding of construction or engineering services.
  • Experience in performing quality control initiatives and performance testing.
  • Skill in lab reporting, writing reports, and maintaining records.
  • Ability to manage projects with little/no supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor construction and demolition environments.
  • Must be able to interact well with others.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in external environment conditions during difficult weather.
  • Ability to provide status updates independently.
  • Be quality-minded and client-focused.
