Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resource Generalist to join our team at Kelberman Center Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a wide range of human resource functions, with a primary focus on employee benefits administration and leave of absence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the recruitment process, including posting open jobs, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and facilitating the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Help develop, implement, and communicate HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Support employee training and development initiatives, including coordinating training sessions and tracking employee participation.
  • Manage the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, leave of absence, and wellness programs.
  • Coordinate open enrollment periods, providing employees with information and support regarding their benefit options and assisting with enrollment processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, federal and state regulations (ERISA, ACA, FMLA, ADA), and best practices related to benefits and leave management.
  • Prepare and maintain required reports and documentation related to employee benefits.
  • Collaborate with benefit vendors and third-party administrators to resolve issues, enhance services, and ensure timely processing of claims and inquiries.
  • Conduct informational sessions or workshops to educate employees about benefit programs, policies, and changes.
  • Manage the leave of absence process from start to finish, including intake, documentation review, and ongoing communication with employees and managers.
  • Work closely with HR colleagues, managers, and external vendors to coordinate leave management and facilitate a smooth transition back to work.
  • Prepare reports and metrics related to leave usage, trends, and compliance. Identify areas for improvement in leave processes and policies.
  • Develop and conduct training sessions for managers and employees on leave practices, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor ongoing leaves, maintain contact with employees on leave, and assist in the return-to-work process, including accommodations and transitional duties.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in benefits administration, leave of absence, or other HR roles.
  • SHRM or PHR certified preferred but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of leave regulations, employee benefits programs, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and other relevant software; familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A keen understanding of the differences between various roles within organizations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
