Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Records Specialist to manage and maintain medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with all internal and external records requests.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA/HITECH regulations.
  • Coordinate logistics for new hire onboarding sessions and employee training sessions.
  • Manage the organization's employee database and prepare reports.
  • Maintains good communication with MCO representatives and provides records in a timely manner.
  • Performs audits on resident records to ensure accuracy in concert with the Director of Administrative Services.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest HIPAA/HITECH requirements and best practices.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in health information management - 3-5 years' direct experience may be substituted.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Solid understanding of MS Office.
  • Experience with release of information (ROI) documentation and requirements.
  • Meets health requirements, i.e. - flu vaccination, COVID vaccination, COVID Booster, tb testing - per licensing requirements.
  • Must demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload.
