Position Overview

The Records & Information Management Specialist will play a crucial role within the Command Total Force and Operations (SEA 10) Directorate of NAVAL SEA SYSTEMS COMMAND.


Eligibility:

Key Responsibilities:

The incumbent will undertake a variety of tasks as the Records and Information Management Specialist, focusing on:

  • Supporting Records Management Inspection Reviews, evaluating complex functional areas.
  • Participating in the strategic planning, management, and execution of core mission and administrative records systems across NAVSEA.
  • Assisting in the organization, direction, and establishment of controls for all NAVSEA records activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal regulations and reviewing General Records Schedules from the National Archives and Records Administration.
  • Contributing to the development of evaluation and survey tools for assessing the Command Records Management Program.
  • Collaborating with legal counsel within the Department of the Navy to manage records and information assets effectively.
  • Consulting with the NAVSEA Chief Information Officer (CIO) Office to align records management technology with DON enterprise architecture.
  • Identifying the need for additional inspections based on data gathered during Command Inspections.
Requirements:

To qualify for this position, candidates must:

  • Be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Be deemed suitable for federal employment.
  • Participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to duty commencement.
  • Be registered for Selective Service if born after a specified date.
  • Be prepared for potential travel to various locations.
Qualifications:

Applicants must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent), in federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, providing guidance in record management activities.
