Position Overview

The Building People is seeking a Records Management Analyst to provide support for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This role is essential in overseeing the records management functions within the Rural Development (RD) Mission Area, ensuring efficient administrative support for a vast workforce.

Key Responsibilities

The Records Management Analyst will:

  • Manage the Central File Unit (CFU), which plays a crucial role in supporting RD records management activities.
  • Engage in primary CFU tasks, including sorting, filing, tracking inventory, and preparing records for digital scanning and transfer to appropriate archival entities.
  • Facilitate the movement of records from RD offices to the CFU, ensuring they are properly inventoried and scanned in compliance with established schedules.
  • Provide expert guidance to RD programs, ensuring adherence to regulations while meeting customer needs for effective records management.
  • Analyze and create inventories and spreadsheets related to records management operations, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with USDA and NARA regulations.
  • Coordinate records transfers to the Federal Records Center (FRC) for temporary records and to NARA for permanent records, ensuring accurate documentation of records series and retention authority.
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Comprehensive knowledge of records management processes and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure while effectively managing demanding assignments.
