The Opportunity

The Account Manager plays a critical role in managing a book of insurance business, providing exceptional service to clients, carrier representatives, and HUB colleagues. This role requires a high degree of independent discretion, autonomy, and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Producers and other HUB personnel to deliver exceptional client service, marketing, and renewal efforts.
  • Provide professional service to clients, carrier representatives, and HUB colleagues, resulting in high account retention rates.
  • Oversee the preparation and implementation of transactions, paperwork, and internal processing for assigned accounts.
  • Acquire a deep understanding of clients' insurance objectives and analyze insurance plans to determine suitability.
  • Coordinate the implementation of clients' strategic plans, including value-added services such as risk assessments, contract reviews, and claims reviews.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and insurance carriers to resolve complex service issues and negotiate with underwriters and carriers.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-sell and up-sell of other HUB products and services and document clients' existing insurance products and services.
  • Manage account rounding and develop new business opportunities in accordance with standard practices and policies.
  • Maintain accurate and organized account files, update HUB computer systems, and ensure data accuracy.
  • Prepare reports, proposals, and comparisons for management as required.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry changes and make recommendations to clients in response to those changes.
Requirements
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and agency management systems.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships and work effectively with insurance and service vendors.
  • Ability to respond to customer needs, solicit feedback, and handle difficult customer situations.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, prioritize tasks, and organize multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team and coach others in developing their skills and abilities.
