Position Summary:

The Testing Center is seeking a dedicated part-time proctor. The primary role of the proctor is to ensure that students with disabilities receive their designated accommodations while upholding the integrity of the examination process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer examinations for students with disabilities who have received approved accommodations.
  • Oversee the examination process to ensure compliance with specific protocols provided by instructors.
  • Maintain consistency in the administration of exams according to the approved accommodations for each student.
  • Manage the entry and exit of individuals in the Testing Center.
  • Communicate effectively with faculty regarding exam administration instructions.
  • Report any breaches of academic integrity or irregularities that may affect the quality of test administration.
  • Ensure a secure testing environment with minimal distractions, conducting regular security checks and utilizing monitoring software.
  • Provide basic technical assistance related to the technology used in the Testing Center during examinations.
  • Clarify exam expectations to test takers based on instructions from faculty regarding permitted and prohibited items.
  • Prepare, distribute, and collect all examination materials.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality of all student information and testing materials.
  • Perform administrative tasks as necessary to support the Testing Center operations.
  • Availability for the primary schedule is Monday - Thursday from 1pm to 6pm and Fridays as needed from 9am to 1pm.
Required Qualifications:
  • Availability to work assigned hours to support Testing Center functions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently when required.
  • Dependable and punctual.
  • Capability to sit or stand for extended periods during exam sessions.
  • Basic proficiency with computers and iPads.
Minimum Educational Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution; or one to two years of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience that meets these criteria.
