The Program Coordinator for Child and Family Services is tasked with delivering essential administrative assistance to ensure the smooth operation of the department. This role includes welcoming families and providing support within childcare initiatives, alongside managing data entry for the Family Services Program.

This position is integral to the functioning of the Childcare Center.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED is required; bilingual skills (Spanish) are advantageous.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant clerical or administrative experience, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Basic culinary skills are necessary.
  • Experience in food service or hospitality is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to obtain a Serv-Safe Certification.
Key Responsibilities
  • Attend meetings as needed to document minutes.
  • Handle incoming calls with professionalism, directing them appropriately or addressing general inquiries regarding programs.
  • Assist with the application process for childcare services as required.
  • Manage deliveries for the department.
  • Process all incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • Welcome families and oversee the drop-off and pick-up procedures for children.
  • Input data into various systems for screenings, assessments, and family support initiatives.
  • Engage in active supervision of children, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Support the organization of food deliveries.
  • Assist in meal and snack preparation for children, staff, and volunteers, in compliance with nutritional guidelines.
  • Participate in post-meal clean-up, ensuring sanitation of kitchen areas and equipment.
  • Maintain safe food storage practices and uphold kitchen sanitation standards.
  • Exemplify good hygiene and appropriate conduct for self and others in the facility.
  • Occasionally work with children in food-related activities as requested.
  • Keep records of meal attendance and food types provided.
  • Assume cooking responsibilities in the absence of the primary cook.
  • Engage in ongoing education regarding nutrition and food services through workshops and training.
  • Stay informed about the dietary needs of children, including allergies.
  • Communicate any concerns or suggestions regarding nutrition to the Kitchen Supervisor or Food Services Manager.
  • Be prepared to transport food to other locations if necessary.
  • Perform any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor or department director to support program objectives.
