Medical Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Director to lead our Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine team at Catholic Health Initiatives. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to our anesthesia and perioperative services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and exceptional patient experience.
Key Responsibilities- Provide physician leadership and guidance to our anesthesia and perioperative medicine team, aligning our services with the strategic goals and objectives of Catholic Health Initiatives.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve clinical quality, patient safety, and engagement of clinical care providers.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership, physicians, and advanced practice professionals to develop and implement business plans and coordinate the integration of services across the care continuum.
- Work closely with the CommonSpirit Health System Vice President for Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine to ensure alignment between market needs and national plans.
- Develop and manage budgets, oversee resource allocation, and ensure effective cost control.
- Provide coaching and development opportunities for providers, promoting education, research, and teaching.
- Engage in continuous process improvement, championing Virginia Mason Production System and implementing new work standards.
- MD or DO degree, with Board certification in Anesthesiology.
- 7 years of successful clinical practice as an anesthesiologist, including 5 years in a leadership/management capacity.
- Strong knowledge of anesthesia and perioperative medicine principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other providers in interdisciplinary teams.
