Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Henrico Doctors' Hospital Forest. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.
Responsibilities- Maintain American Heart Association, Health Care Provider BLS and ACLS certifications
- Maintain state license requirements
- Maintain NBRC credentials for Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Fulfill staff meeting, in-service, competency and on-going education requirements
- Ensure safe and appropriate oxygen administrations through the Oxygen Therapist Driven Protocol
- Perform non-invasive SpO2 monitoring through pulse oximetry via overnight studies, exercise, continuous and spot checks
- Administer all therapy modalities to Adult, Neonatal and Pediatric patients per physician's orders
- Initiate, operate, monitor and wean patients with mechanical ventilators, high frequency, and oscillatory ventilators
- Perform airway clearance therapy, including VEST
- Perform basic operations on the Meditech system
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- STABLE must be obtained within 1st year
- RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT / RCP)
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist
