Respiratory Therapist PRN

We are seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist PRN to join our team at Henrico Doctors' Hospital Forest. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient-centered respiratory care, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and deliver respiratory care services, including diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, to patients with respiratory conditions.
- Administer floor and critical care therapy modalities, including mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, and airway clearance therapy.
- Perform arterial puncture and blood gas analysis, as well as troubleshoot and maintain blood gas machines.
- Respond to cardiopulmonary arrests, rapid responses, trauma activations, and labor and delivery calls, providing critical care services as needed.
- Maintain and process equipment, ensuring that all necessary tools and supplies are available for patient care.
- Provide specialized services to the department, including precepting new employees and participating in continuing education programs.
- Current Virginia Licensed Respiratory Therapist
- Maintain NBRC credentials for Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Current NRP, PALS Certification
- STABLE certification (within first year)
- Preferred: NBRC subspecialty credential Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty Exam
- Knowledge and experience in basic floor care, noninvasive and mechanical ventilation, blood gas analysis, pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy, capnography, and oximetry equipment.
