Job Summary

The Surgical Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the surgical scheduling process, ensuring seamless communication between patients, physicians, and staff. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule patients for surgery and complete necessary paperwork
  • Confirm patient demographics, surgery date, and time, as well as medical diagnosis
  • Review instructions with patients prior to surgeries, including medications, allergies, labs, health history, pre-op, and post-op treatment plans
  • Gather insurance information to confirm coverage and benefits
  • Ensure all paperwork is complete and on file for patients' surgeries, including consent forms
  • Answer and respond to all incoming telephone inquiries regarding surgery
  • Schedule patients for follow-up appointments and other health assessments
  • Monitor surgery schedule and work directly with physicians to coordinate appointments
  • Coordinate medical clearance when necessary
  • Adhere to all Advanced Pain Care policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; one year of prior surgery scheduling experience in a healthcare setting highly preferred
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records, insurance verification, medical terminology, and surgical procedures
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills
