Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist RRT to join our team at St. David's Surgical Hospital. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT / RCP) certification.
  • Associate Degree.
  • State Registered Respiratory Therapist, or Licensed Respiratory Therapist.

St. David's Surgical Hospital is a destination surgical facility located in north Austin, Texas. A campus of St. David's North Austin Medical Center, this hospital features 40 inpatient rooms, several operating suites, pre-op and PACU bays, and an intensive care unit (ICU). The campus specializes in orthopedic, neurological, bariatric, gynecological, and urological surgeries, but includes services such as imaging and pharmacy.
