Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our team at Turner & Townsend. As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a critical role in delivering cost management services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems on commercial, data center, healthcare, high-tech, and manufacturing building projects.
  • Collaborate with our San Francisco Bay area team to prepare mechanical estimates and cost plans.
  • Assist in feasibility studies and procurement reports, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Manage all aspects of procurement, including pre-qualification, bid analysis, and contractual document preparation.
  • Participate in post-contract cost variances and change control processes, ensuring effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
  • Conduct cost checks and valuations on larger projects, ensuring timely and accurate cost checking and valuation processes.
  • Prepare and present monthly post-contract cost reports to clients.
  • Contribute to value engineering and negotiate final accounts, ensuring optimal cost savings.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and other consultants throughout project stages.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in preparing mechanical estimates on large, high-value, and complex construction projects.
  • Strong technical expertise in cost management areas, including pre-contract, post-contract, and final account.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCad Navisworks, and/or other related software.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
Education and Experience
  • College degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management with a Technical Focus, Quantity Surveyor, or related technical field.
  • Experience working on commercial, data center, healthcare, high-tech, and/or manufacturing building projects is preferred.
