Job Overview

The Culinary Sanitation Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen environment. This position is primarily responsible for operating and upkeeping cleaning equipment and tools, as well as ensuring that all kitchenware, including dishes, utensils, and cooking vessels, are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen space, ensuring that all areas are inspection-ready at all times.
  • Keep floors dry and clean to prevent accidents.
  • Operate dishwashing machinery while adhering to hygiene regulations and company standards.
  • Follow all sanitation protocols diligently.
  • Assist culinary staff and servers as needed.
  • Manage waste disposal in accordance with established procedures and recycling guidelines.
  • Ensure the waste disposal area is clean and organized.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and emptying trash bins.
  • Sanitize pots, pans, utensils, and other kitchen equipment routinely.
  • Maintain cleanliness of floors and walls in the kitchen and dishwashing areas.
  • Consistently adhere to safety data sheet (SDS) guidelines for chemical usage.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating industrial dishwashers.
  • Monitor and maintain chemical inventory levels.
  • Organize and store cleaned items safely and efficiently.
  • Report any maintenance or safety concerns to the supervising manager.
  • Assist in light food preparation and serving as directed.
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic work environment at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess a positive attitude, effective communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure with minimal supervision. A valid health card is required.

Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Experience:

Prior experience in a similar role, along with knowledge of basic food hygiene practices, is essential.
