  • Participate in departmental meetings and educational activities to stay up-to-date on the latest eye care techniques and technologies.
  • Consult with internal medicine, pediatrics, and ophthalmology teams to ensure patients receive the best possible care.
  • Assist in implementing eye care education programs for medical center staff and patients.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Optometry.
  • Enrollment in PECOS within 90 days of hire date.
  • Optometrist License (Maryland) OR Optometrist License (Virginia) OR Optometrist License (District of Columbia).
  • Basic Life Support required at hire from American Heart Association.
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an interdisciplinary healthcare environment.
  • Accredited residency in Optometry.
Work Environment:

Primary location: District of Columbia, Washington, Capitol Hill Medical Center.

Hours per week: 40.

Shift: Day.

Workdays: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.

Working hours start: 08:30 AM.

Working hours end: 05:00 PM.

Job schedule: Full-time.
