Overview
This position represents a high-level role in the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) domain, focusing on system analysis, advisory services, and training at the state level for HRIS applications that support various functions, including Human Resources, Benefits, Payroll, Time and Attendance, and Pension Administration. Employees in this role operate with a significant degree of independence, managing complex tasks with minimal oversight and serving as the primary contact for designated state agencies or specific operational areas.Key Responsibilities
The following responsibilities are essential to this position and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties associated with the role:
Conducts system analysis and provides consultation for HRIS applications, assists with helpdesk operations, delivers system training, and generates data reports for users, which may encompass state agencies, educational institutions, vendors, and local governments. Investigates and resolves user inquiries, requests, and system issues; executes scheduled tasks and proposes solutions or alternative methods to fulfill requirements. Monitors reporting and processes data change requests to amend or rectify information in the system, addressing issues related to user access and security; maintains documentation of customer inquiries and resolutions through an internal automated tracking system. Ensures adherence to state and federal laws, regulations, standards, and policies relevant to statewide HRIS operations. Engages in HRIS business requirements analysis, system testing, change management, and training related to system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements. Undertakes special projects and assignments as needed. Develops, executes, and maintains a variety of reports or queries using appropriate reporting tools to meet ongoing customer demands. Executes processes to correct or update employee data, ensuring accuracy in payroll and benefits. Reviews, verifies, and updates system configurations and tables to ensure compliance with state business practices and applicable regulations. Assesses existing business processes, policies, and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement and enhanced efficiency. Participates in meetings, conference calls, and presentations to communicate effectively with stakeholders. Updates HRIS procedures, job aids, and training materials for staff and end users. May evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and resources, modifying them as necessary to meet organizational needs, and plans, develops, coordinates, and delivers various training formats, including classroom and virtual sessions. Communicates and interacts effectively with diverse populations across various backgrounds and abilities.Qualifications
